Nobody here can look up a claim, move a payment, or decide whether you qualify. This guide has no contact form, and no message reaches NJDOL through it. Every route below is the Department's own.

Help with a claim

Reemployment Call Centers take new claims by phone on weekdays, excluding holidays, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. A separate set of local numbers takes the weekly certifications, and those local numbers all ring through to one place. Offices and phone numbers says which number does what, including the line kept for callers with an out-of-state area code and the relay service for deaf and hard-of-hearing callers.

Help with a claim in person is by appointment at a One-Stop Career Center, booked through the Department. Anyone who wants career help rather than claim help can walk in instead.

Asking a question in writing

NJDOL's contact page carries an online form for a request for information. The answer that comes back is generated automatically, from an address nobody monitors, so anything it fails to answer needs a phone call. Password resets are the exception, and Department staff handle those.

Post is the other written route, and the one worth using when a claim needs a paper trail: the Division of Unemployment Insurance, Customer Service Office, New Jersey Department of Labor, PO Box 058, Trenton, NJ 08625-0058.

If a claim was filed in your name

Tell the Department straight away. It has online forms for reporting fraud, one for a claim filed with your Social Security number or other personal information, and one for somebody collecting benefits while working, which you can submit without giving your name. What counts as fraud has the hotline and what happens after a report.

Temporary disability and family leave

Those claims are decided by a different division with its own phone lines. Disability and family leave benefits lists them, alongside the rule that decides which program pays: the date you last worked.
